Upgrading of the secondary and tertiary crushing buildings at the Agarak Copper and Molybdenum Mining and Processing Plant

Agarak Copper and Molybdenum Mining and Processing Complex (AMMK) is owned by GeoProMining, an international diversified mining company specialized in the mining and processing of gold, silver, antimony and copper in Russia and Armenia. The operation include an open-pit mine and a processing plant. The process flowsheet for copper and molybdenum concentrate production includes crushing, grinding and flotation.

In 2019, GeoProMining’s Management made a decision to upgrade AMMK in order to expand its production capacity and double plant throughput to 4.5 Mta.

Sever Minerals was engaged to develop the best solution for replacing the existing secondary and tertiary crushing equipment. Our engineers came up with a process solution based on materials crushability tests, calculations of the existing crushing and grinding circuits and evaluation of equipment operating conditions.

Sever Minerals' provided a tailor-made process solution, which covered engineering services, delivery of equipment, installation supervision, startup and commissioning.

  • 3D scanning
  • BIM-modelling
  • Delivery of an integrated package of crushing and screening equipment
  • Installation of a cascade automation system

Sever Minerals' operation and maintenance engineers supervised the startup and commissioning of the plant, and helped the Customer achieve the guaranteed performance.
